Midjourney and Adobe Photoshop AI: working with Ai generative fill

An efficient and quick method for adding legs to a cropped character generated on Midjourney.

Photoshop AI tools With Midjourney! Have you ever created a fantastic-looking character on Midjourney, but unfortunately, the legs were cut off? Well, there is a quick and efficient method to generate legs, feet, or other missing parts using Adobe’s Photoshop AI generative fill tool.

I will try to keep this tutorial as simple, short and quick as possible.

At the time of writing this article, the only way to access Photoshop’s AI generative fill tool is by using the beta version of Photoshop 2023.

If you possess a Creative Cloud account, you have the option to access the beta edition of Photoshop, which can be downloaded from the Beta Apps section.

In Midjourney

STEP 1: Begin by creating a character of your choice in Midjourney. Ensure that the background is relatively simple or create a plain background. This will aid Photoshop in generating a faster output.

On this example lets choose result 3 or U3.

black ninja ready to strike sword in hand, full body shot, looking straight to the camera, eyes are fixed to camera, dark background, photorealistic,4K, dslr camera ar–– 16:9

STEP 2: Save the image. This is it for Midjourney

STEP 3: Open the saved image in Photoshop. Once the image is open, select the crop tool and add some space below the image. Make the added space tall enough so that Photoshop can generate the remaining legs with good proportions.

Start with the crop tool

STEP 4: Once you have completed the crop, use the selection tool to select all the blank space below the image, along with a small portion of the image itself (such as the knees).

Select a small section of the bottom of the image (knees) and the rest below.

STEP 5: Once you have the selection hit the generative fill button.

click on Generative Fill

You will then be prompted to enter (or describe) some text. This is an important step; leave the text field in blank and click on “Generate.”

Don’t write any description just hit Generate

As you can see, if we don’t provide a description, Photoshop will generate the missing image components by analyzing the image itself.

Finally, one great aspect of this generative output is that Photoshop provides three outputs every time we click on “Generate.” Also it will create a layer for the Ai generated image.

photoshop will generate 3 outputs and will also create al layer for the generated image

And that is it with Photoshop AI tools With Midjourney.
